Costambar Real Estate
In contrast to Sosua and Cabarete, Costambar is very laid back.
It's a small beachfront community
to the west of Puerto Plata
with an enviously quiet stretch
of wide sandy beach. There
tend to be a number of large
villas in Costambar, but also
some smaller apartments and
condos. Most of the housing
here tends to benefit from
great sea views, as Costambar
is situated on a gently rising
hill. Although Costambar is
small, it boasts a couple of
small but well-stocked supermarkets,
a pharmacy and a selection
of good restaurants and bars,
some actually on the beach.
Costambar residents are literally
5 minutes outside of Puerto
Plata city, so close to the
largest selection of shops,
schools, medical facilities
and nightlife on the North
Coast. There's even a gold
course, a tennis club and a
raquet club within Costambar
for when you want a bit of
activity.
Real estate prices in Costambar start from around $30,000 for
a small studio apartment. a
2 or 3 bed villa can actually
be had for as little as $110,000
and prices go all the way up
to $1 million for a luxurious
upmarket residence.
